Bored, Hungry, Sleepy

I'm being a brat, there's nothing interesting to do (no important work at all to be exact), beginning to feel hungry, and I could do with some sleep now. Today has been the day with the least job almost null, apart from shredding papers, and having no work does not equal to joy, it's plain boring. since 9.30am this morning, I've been sitting at my desk, listening to songs and chatting while surfing blogs. it's okie that I'm unproductive but it's even more tiring than having some extra work to do. Feel lost on the Internet, reading celeb sites, gossips, blogs and visiting facebook.

it's freaking cold as well, and i believe Pmay is experiencing the same or maybe lower temperature there at her office. HAHA. okay i know. I'm so mo liu. Shall stop complaining. and spend the next 30minutes here quietly. Must appreciate my time here, eventhough it's ridiculously boring and time-wasting, for THIS is my last week, another 3 days before i officially leave the building. They better prepare a nice sweet testimonial for me!

beeZie beeZie week

Looking like a mess at work now. Woke up late this morning, still looking very sleepy like i've just gotten out of bed. luckily nobody really cares at work cos most of them look as though they haven't slept for an entire week anyway.

This week have been and going to be a busy one. There's a line-up of events for the entire week at Mxs.

First, we had the Opening Ceremony of the new Mxs learning centre, then on the same night, there's the CEO's farewell party, and then for 3 days straight, our team is gonna give out career talks to internal staff. But.....

Yesterday was the best day among all the days I've worked here. Really great! Had a fantastic time due to several reasons. Not gonna elaborate until later posts. :p

The OC of Mxs Academy is finally here, 31st July 2007 at Plaza Sentral. All the preparation and hardwork finally paid off for everyone in the HR Division. It marked another good day for me, even 10times better than any other day at Mxs. Firstly, was given an F1 shirt which totally was irrelevant to the entire concept in my opinion but after learning the cost of the shirt due to the many embroidered logos on the sleeves, Mxs is definitely treating its staff like royalties.

Started off by having breakfast at Mcds KL Sentral with S and V. After that we headed straight to Level 3 to set up our booth and got ready to present the portal whenever guests visit (ours was the first stop of the floor). After the VIPs finally arrived and launched the academy (being VIPs, punctuality does not matter much) and were invited to enjoy their lunch in the VIP room (fine dining style).

While, the usual committee (moi included), had to have our lunch at the cafeteria area, food was not too bad actually. Then we were quite done for the day at Sentral. Packed our bags and booklets and we were ready to leave just before the VIPs depart. So being gracious hosts like we were, we waited for all of them to make their way through the exit and escalators first. However, our patience was repaid by crazily excellent food from Hilton!

Those kids from Cyberlinq actually got to dine in the VIP room, served with FRESH OYSTERS, LAMB SHANK, QUALITY ICECREAM, CREME BRULEE, DESSERT all types of mini cakes, FRESH OYSTERS, CHEESE CAKE, CHOC FUDGE CAKE, did i mention FRESH OYSTERS? Sorry but i only remember wht dessert they served cos i wasnot aiming for the main course, was too full from the previous meal.

So who can or will waste the chance of having fresh oysters away? Maybe some, but certainly not the HR team. Most of us were helping ourselves to the oysters while the waiters kept returning to refill the tray. really funny. A friend had 17 of them, insane! Zinc overload! and probably will be too 'active' at nite (aphrodisiac).

After that full meal, we were happily and contentedly leaving the centre in a big group to be back at Menara Mxs. To continue with some work unfortunately...AND also attend the Dato's farewell.

:) :) :)

A friend is back in penang! couldn't believe it for i didn't expect her to be back so soon. She's just gonna be here temporarily so now i'm considering returning to penang one fine weekend. Need time!

Life has been quite hectic since i started this internship, but it's a good feeling though. Not the kind of stress you get during examination period, this one is way better (I'm not feeling the working stress, yet). No reading into late nights required. About a month more to go, and certainly I would have learned a lot by then, not just procedures and paperwork but the corporate world and working ethics........and also how you can still make loads of money being unproductive.

9 - 6 job

9th July 2007, I've officially started working a full-time office work. Never thought this day would come so soon when my housemates and I actually sat down after work and the topic of our conversation was work! Oh, it's great that all 3 of us got industrial training, hmm guess there will be more work-related discussions at home lah. We were exchanging comments/views/info about both our jobs...woh how grown up have we become? It's weird, we are becoming working freaks. Hehe, I'm exaggerating of cos. I actually felt kinda 'small' in the office surrounded by so many other more mature people, I feel like a kid again among adults. I know i'm old enough to be categorised as an adult but it's amazing how knowledgeable these people can be, with years and years of experience of the corporate world. One can never learn enough.

First day was a bit scary because i did not know what to expect, saw and got introduced to so many new faces i think i've forgotten most of their names, lousy memory mar. And today, it's the fifth day which concludes the entire first week of my internship. So I'll still have 6 more weeks to go.

Even though, I felt too young in there, it's fascinating how much i got to learn from them, how much that i would not be able to learn from just studying in uni for there is no realism to what they teach you in school. Everything is different in the outside world, scores and grades aren't everything but they do get you to where you want to be, anyway to stay and remain there, it's definitely a different story.
