Dumb bank!

The dumbest bank in Malaysia has got to be Maybank! To reapply a lost atm card, i had to make a ridiculous total of 6 trips to 3 different branches. Since i opened my account at the Komtar branch, that was my first choice. Tough luck, their atm device had to break down on that particular day and the person at the counter told me to head to another branch to get my card.

So fine! i went to the jelutong branch next, waited for more than half an hour for them to tell me they can't accept my temporary IC (old news: snatchtheft) cos i did not open my account there. I need to show them my license for them to process my card. the thing is, i had to renew my license first. Fine Fine!

Two or three days later, to try my luck again, i went to the komtar branch. The lousy device is still down. Good! A few days later after dat, i went there another time, same thing, device still down. Can't they jus fix that stupid piece of shit? Good service my head!

Today, went to the Jelutong branch first, guess what they told me a lot of people are making atm cards i gotta wait for 1 whole hour.

So tired of waiting for the damned card, i decided to head to another branch to get things done. the nearest branch would be Dato' Kramat's. Even better, they said to get my card i only can do it at the branch i open my account. What good service. According to the Komtar branch, i can go to ANY branch at all cos their device had technical problem. But according to the smart ass DK branch, i can't cos im using a temporary ic. Well hey, retards, if i'm illegal, can i get my temporary ic issued by the GOVERNMENT in the first place? To get such a small matter settled, i had to go through so much stupid unnecessary procedure. WTF!

First machine down, then i must show my license accompanied by my IC, next i only can make the card at one particular branch. Fuck them Maybank. I did not encounter such difficulties with CIMB at all, all they needed me to show was my TEMPORARY ic and the completed form and THAT'S IT! what's with Maybank and their fussy idiotic service? all those paperwork and hours of waiting really piss customers off ok. They really ought to send all their staffs to some seminars and customer-responsive service training. and yes i finally got the card after showing my dull black sick face to the banker! LEY...

Farewell, my friend

I was dead stunned when u broke the news. It's shocking to suddenly realise that u are leaving the country not to do something what common people our age do. But then it's not like it's the end of the world hey. You faced the whole situation with courage and determination and i really admire you for that. Not many dare to take the step that you took for the sake of their family. Not many are willing to sacrifice so much even for their family. Not many can withstand the thought of uncertainties that might befall them. Not many could still stay strong when people around them fail to. Not many would bear the full burden and responsibility of others like the way you did. Not many are able to act the way you did, to choose this path and continue your journey in life. For this, you truly proved yourself to be someone worthy of respect from family and friends. Even at moments like this, you never did once forget your friends including me.

No doubt you are a great thinker. lol. there are no dead end in this world, really glad that you are so optimistic. may everything goes the way you planned for it to be over there. Send my regards to you and your family. hope that you will meet more kind-hearted souls over there. all the best, will really miss you. may you live happily and stress-free there. don't overwork yourself and remember that there are still a lot of ppl who care for you here. be sure to keep in touch, may the paths ahead of you be bright and great. This post is dedicated to you specially, to bid farewell and also to wish you the best of everything from now on.

Sakkai(s) in the island - Day 3 (Last day)

The last day arrived, and also wasted spent lazing ard at home the whole morning. parents bought some nyonya kuih and char koay teow for them. 2 hours later, it was lunch time, time to eat again, dis time mom cooked some nyonya dishes to eat with rice. another 3 hours later, they had to go. We brought them to the bus terminal and off they went home.

Later in the evening, i've plans to meet diane, ade, mel, hwen, cying and xinch at gurney drive to have the long-anticipated fried chicken skin! look how healthy i am. it has been so long since i've seen so many of them all together at the same time and place, it was good. felt like old school times again in MGS and during Lower 6.

It's late and i'm getting quite sleepy, forgive me for the shortness and lack of details, nothing important is missed so that's it lah. My job as a tour guide was officially over and i'm quite glad too bcos showing ppl around isn't the easiest thing to do. Would still prefer to become the tourist instead. However, overall i had fun and it was kinda terrific.

Sakkai(s) in PG - Day 2

Late. As usual, set the alarm to ring at an ungodly hour, 8am. should have known it was quite impossible to wake up at such a time considering we did not get much sleep the day before. breakfast was mom's Lor Mee, hehe tasted great but a bit too much, felt heavy straight after i finish my bowl. mom's feeding me like a pig at home but of cos my own self to blame for not being able to decline food offered at home.

Today, our destination is THE BEACH. woohoo, the sakkais had not really been to the coastal area, understandable urban kids. so the moment we reached, both of them got excited and decided to get wet and swim in the sea. Funny thing was, sukh wasn't really 'prepared' for it so it spelled t-r-o-u-b-l-e for her. i made sure i don't wet my top cos i didn't bring extras.

After just 2.5 hours at the beach, i felt roasted, i looked roasted and can feel the heat on my skin. Great, now half of my arm is way darker than the other half and i haf a wedding to attend. Not forgetting my black charcoal face. Spent the next few hours at Gurney Plaza to kill time, had our lunch at FoodLoft then we watched Deja Vu. it was damn good! i would say it's a very good watch and definitely worth it. After that we went off to makan again at gurney drive hawker centre. This time i can't eat much, still full from lunch, they serve really big portion at FoodLoft. We only had 2 things cos they wanted to try Pasembur and Muar Chee, both newly found delicacies in their food dictionary.

Sakkai(s) in the island - Day 1

After the scrumptious hokkien mee feast, with me being their "tour guide" we headed downtown -> Prangin Mall. Initially i wanted to bring them to Kek Seng Kopitiam to try the ever-so delicious durian ice-cream but by the time we reached town it was already late and the coffee shop would have closed by then. So we just walked around prangin and they did a little shopping there. Coming fr Kl, they were obviously not impressed of the mall but anyhow at least Beads Zone caught their attention. Good for Sukh, she finally got the skirt she wasn't exactly looking for but it's nice on her.

Next stop was New Lane! it was already dinner time so where else to go in town other than the famous hawker centre near Sunway Hotel. We ate a lot, well mostly them eating like gluttons, lol. Ordered Lorbak, Satay, Char Koay Kak, Popiah, See Koe Teng and Mata Kucing. i was extremely stuffed after that but apparently i was alone. Those two monkeys were still complaining that they were not quite full yet and wanted more. We walked along Macalister Road and in the end ended up in a bakery shop called Time2Bread. Billy bought bread like he had never seen and tasted them in his whole life before becos he thought they were pretty cheap (below $2 each). our dinner didn't stop at new lane, each of us got ourselves a piece of cake, i got a Mocha cheesecake while both of them had Choc Mud cake. The cakes were so-so only, nothing to shout about.

Too bad i was too tired till i forgot to bring the camera along, no photos...sheessh.

home sweet home

DEC 11 2006 -> finally home, took the 9.30am Konsortium bus with my 2 KL friends who decided to give ol'penang a visit (after all my bangga'ing abt my hometown). Stupid bus only managed to leave pudu at ard 10.05am. By the time we reached penang it was already like 3pm. Didn't even get to enjoy a good nap in the bus cos the seat was too hard and after awhile my neck hurt like shit, so the journey back wasn't pleasant at all.

BUT all the discomfort was paid off by mom's homecooked Hokkien Mee! I dun think i'll mind another trip on that darn bus if i'll be rewarded with my mom's cooking. Haven't had it for just 2 months plus but it feels like a whole damn year. Uh..i'm talking like she always add some addictive substance into the food making me showing withdrawal symptoms. Well, my 2 friends never tasted Penang Style Hokkien Mee before in their lives so it was pretty awesome for them too. (tsk tsk kl..kl...)
