The OC of Mxs Academy is finally here, 31st July 2007 at Plaza Sentral. All the preparation and hardwork finally paid off for everyone in the HR Division. It marked another good day for me, even 10times better than any other day at Mxs. Firstly, was given an F1 shirt which totally was irrelevant to the entire concept in my opinion but after learning the cost of the shirt due to the many embroidered logos on the sleeves, Mxs is definitely treating its staff like royalties.
Started off by having breakfast at Mcds KL Sentral with S and V. After that we headed straight to Level 3 to set up our booth and got ready to present the portal whenever guests visit (ours was the first stop of the floor). After the VIPs finally arrived and launched the academy (being VIPs, punctuality does not matter much) and were invited to enjoy their lunch in the VIP room (fine dining style).
While, the usual committee (moi included), had to have our lunch at the cafeteria area, food was not too bad actually. Then we were quite done for the day at Sentral. Packed our bags and booklets and we were ready to leave just before the VIPs depart. So being gracious hosts like we were, we waited for all of them to make their way through the exit and escalators first. However, our patience was repaid by crazily excellent food from Hilton!
Those kids from Cyberlinq actually got to dine in the VIP room, served with FRESH OYSTERS, LAMB SHANK, QUALITY ICECREAM, CREME BRULEE, DESSERT all types of mini cakes, FRESH OYSTERS, CHEESE CAKE, CHOC FUDGE CAKE, did i mention FRESH OYSTERS? Sorry but i only remember wht dessert they served cos i wasnot aiming for the main course, was too full from the previous meal.
So who can or will waste the chance of having fresh oysters away? Maybe some, but certainly not the HR team. Most of us were helping ourselves to the oysters while the waiters kept returning to refill the tray. really funny. A friend had 17 of them, insane! Zinc overload! and probably will be too 'active' at nite (aphrodisiac).
After that full meal, we were happily and contentedly leaving the centre in a big group to be back at Menara Mxs. To continue with some work unfortunately...AND also attend the Dato's farewell.

:) :) :)
A friend is back in penang! couldn't believe it for i didn't expect her to be back so soon. She's just gonna be here temporarily so now i'm considering returning to penang one fine weekend. Need time!
Life has been quite hectic since i started this internship, but it's a good feeling though. Not the kind of stress you get during examination period, this one is way better (I'm not feeling the working stress, yet). No reading into late nights required. About a month more to go, and certainly I would have learned a lot by then, not just procedures and paperwork but the corporate world and working ethics........and also how you can still make loads of money being unproductive.

Bad news for ML
Baboon called while i was on my way to the elevator at my apartment block, just to say 'hi' she said. Ok. One hour later, walked into my room, checked my handphone and saw missed calls and an sms. Anne wanted to treat all of us to a meal at TGIF. WHAT? I was actually thinking no way she's so nice, i mean for all of us? No matter how nice you are, you won't treat 10people to a dinner at TGI Friday's! Suspected something wasn't right. After thinking for sometime, i decided to rush there (reason being out of curiosity, not becos i 'tam chiak' lah), although i was quite hungry i have to admit.
In the bus, i kept messaging Baboon to tell me the real purpose for the gathering. Finally she gave in and said Anne won't be wid ML anymore. WTH? ML's hers what?!? When i reach, it was awkward, everyone was quiet, it's not right, ML ppl were seldom quiet. Taking the right opportunity, i asked Rno about it and he told me someone else had bought over ML from AnneRajan cos the family will be moving to Doha.
Anne will no longer be our dear boss starting fr Aug, it's really a sad event cos she had been the best boss i've worked
with. Have you ever seen any boss who would actually mop or sweep the floor together with his/her staff? Well, Anne is this humble. She treats all her staff just like her friends, bringing us to each others' open houses during festive occasions.
This is definitely gonna be a big loss to ML staffs, for losing such nice bosses [Anne, Rajan, Chloe, Ciara & Auntie Kim "All the best "]

Lrt :(
Travelling by the LRT daily is actually not too bad on its own, the most critical and disgusting thing is taking it together with people who freak you out. Not in a scary way, but close.
This morning, I had the fortune of standing beside this
lady dressed in
checkers shirt and striped skirt. Apart from the not-so-nice dressing sense, she seemed normal.................................until she started flicking something off her finger and thumb. Curious as I was, i looked. F*ck, it was
residue from her facial skin. I did not try to figure out exactly what it was but i definitely wouldn't wanna know. Worst thing of all was that i HAD to stand jus right next to her cos the train was sardine-packed. She seemed as though she was squeezing her
zits or something, rubbing some
dead skin cells away, and scratching a
red spot around her chin. and every minute she did that, she threw the residue into thin air. WHERE DID THOSE THINGS LANDED???? I have no idea, shit pray that none of it is with me right now. This lasted for half an hour, the whole god-damn ride in the train, she was repeating the same action while she looked up and 'jeling' once in a while. Damn it, dun jeling ppl when u are f'cking disgusting that others can't help but to hold their puke back.
I even tried holding my breath but obviously it didn't work for long. Imagine inhaling all her skin cells! if i ever contract cancer one day, i'll know how i got it.

movie and ah-lian's stay-over
on Friday evening, finally watched Transformers! WOOHOOWOW! great movie! everyone should watch it even if you are not into action flicks. Shall recommend this to my dad, it'll probably be one of the few few few movies that he would not fall asleep halfway watching. Still, i must get the DVD cos i actually missed the first 30minutes into the movie. WhY?? because of work. didn't expect to finish so late....such is working life.
After the movie, met up wid Diane Lian Wong, yes Lian is her middle name. had dinner at the foodcourt with her and Cming. Two of them just met and for the first time since dunno how long ago, i haven't seen any one of them being so polite. well, not to me anyways. Then after dinner, we head back to KJ and waited for the damn bus for 1 full hour, even though the bus was parked just right there, it wouldnt budge.
so by the time we reached home, it's already quite late and I was dead tired. so went to bed early, cos i HAD to attend a children's workshop in the morning. zzZzzZ

9 - 6 job
9th July 2007, I've officially started working a full-time office work. Never thought this day would come so soon when my housemates and I actually sat down
after work and the topic of our conversation was
work! Oh, it's great that all 3 of us got industrial training, hmm guess there will be more work-related discussions at home lah. We were exchanging comments/views/info about both our jobs...woh how grown up have we become? It's weird, we are becoming working freaks. Hehe, I'm exaggerating of cos. I actually felt kinda 'small' in the office surrounded by so many other more mature people, I feel like a kid again among adults. I know i'm old enough to be categorised as an adult but it's amazing how knowledgeable these people can be, with years and years of experience of the corporate world. One can never learn enough.
First day was a bit scary because i did not know what to expect, saw and got introduced to so many new faces i think i've forgotten most of their names, lousy memory mar. And today, it's the fifth day which concludes the entire first week of my internship. So I'll still have
6 more weeks to go.
Even though, I felt too young in there, it's fascinating how much i got to learn from them, how much that i would not be able to learn from just studying in uni for there is no realism to what they teach you in school. Everything is different in the outside world, scores and grades aren't everything but they do get you to where you want to be, anyway to stay and remain there, it's definitely a different story.

Reviving memories
14th July 2007 will be the day i witness my childhood idols, Michael Learns To Rock! Well, even though they may not be as charming and young as long long time ago, at least this once in my lifetime i get to watch their live performance, it is a childhood dream come true.
Still remember quite vividly how my sister and I would their cassette over and over again, (ya la that time was ages ago so we only used cassettes). I was only 11 years old and now 10 years later, i'm gonna haf a chance to watch their concert in Genting! haha, my sis will be so jealous i think she's gonna slap me when i brag to her next time.
Looking forward to their great songs on Saturday and also the aircond-like weather in Genting! Pray for no bright sun dat day. :P
